It was raining! Well, it wasn’t raining on the drive which had been lucky because it had been raining all day (and it felt like all month). And this was the sort of rain that often gets biblical in a Jeremey Clarkson kind of way.
So, lets recap. Drive to Forest of Dean is dry, previous weather awful. When I eventually find the location (sat-nav has its limitations and the Forestry Commission don’t have accurate locations on their website) the weather does what it is always is wont to do in these situations; it hoses down.
Rain coats on and seek shelter. Only one place fore shelter and that is the eaves of the convenience. Not the most salubrious of locations but the light is quite nice in a North-light studio kind of way and Jenna & Pete are more than happy to start posing and they are naturals, which helps.
Eventually the rain eases off and we move lakeside for some more shots making good use of the reflections and patterns on the water with a long lens to compress everything together.
And it rains again, and again, and again. We duck out between the heavy showers and eventually have enough to fill the Guest book we give to the Bride and Groom on the big day. Hair has stayed dry and we have put the world to rights while sheltering away from the rain.
I leave Pete & Jenna to walk around the lake and as I drive away the sun decides it might be a good time to make an appearance and then stays out for the rest of the day… Typical!
